After starting a family, Gini continued to pursue her nursing degree, graduating in 1965. She went on to lead a fulfilling nursing career. Gini worked at the Flagler Hospital, Kit Carson Memorial Hospital, Lincoln Community Hospital, and the Carlsbad Medical Center. She also worked for several years as the administrator of Pioneer Valley housing in Flagler. Her most memorable job was the summer she spent at Flagler Lake Outdoor Park as the caretaker.
